As a newly hatched DemonLord, all you want is some peace and quiet. But an overly zealous Hero just keep barging into your dungeon, no matter how many times you kill him.

The One Hero is a singular take on the tower defense genre, with only a single enemy attacking, and only one of each defensive unit available at a time.

This game was made for the GMTK 2019 Game Jam

HOW TO PLAY: sorry didn't have time to implement a tutorial yet.

Summon minions to vanquish The One Hero, hell bent on destroying you.

1. To place a minion on the board: first click on a unit from the summons list to select it, then click on a white tile on the board to place it. You can only summon one of each type of unit at a time, and also depending on your available MP.

2. When you are finished summoning your units, you can click the Start Encounter button to begin the round. If a unit is defeated by the Hero, you can redeploy it at any time as long as you have enough MP.

its kinda annoing that you have the itch fullscreen while the unity fullscreen button makes the game actually fullscreen but now is difficult to click but besides that pretty cool game

my highscore is 39! almost made it to 40 only it finally realised it didn't have to fight my knight standing back there and run into an ambush, if he didn't it would have gone on for quite longer.

Wow you made it pretty far!! Yeah I noticed the issue with the full screen button, I'll try to fix if after the voting for the game jam ends. Thank you for playing my game!

this is super interesting, a tower defence with only one enemy. I love the theme and aesthetic, I'm kinda a hyper person and wish it was a bit faster though. This is really amazing and great work! I hope you get recognized!

Thank you for trying it out! I didn't really have a plan for the theme, but I'm glad it came together in the end. I was really torn between making the hero walk faster and giving people enough time to redeploy their units, so I may change it a future patch. Thanks again for your feedback :)

This is a really great jam entry! The game feels great, the AI is very responsive to what I do, and it plays very well. The archer doesn't seem like it actually fires and the game does eventually get repetitive so some more units would be nice but those are my only complaints.

Thank you for your feedback! Ha ha you are right, I didn't have enough time to implement a projectile for the archer, so I had to settle for just the animation.  I'm glad you enjoyed it nevertheless :)
